Interventional Cardiologist
Dr. Iantorno is triple board certified in critical care, cardiology, and interventional cardiology, attending prestigious institutions such as National Institute of Health (NIH), Duke, Johns Hopkins, MedStar Georgetown, and Washington Hospital Center. She specializes in treating peripheral vascular conditions, performing knee artery embolizations for severe knee pain, conducting structural heart repairs, and executing complex percutaneous coronary interventions.
Dr. Iantorno serves as Oracle’s director of the Peripheral Vascular Clinic, where she treats patients with vascular disease, as well as the Director of the Valvular Disease Clinic, which cares for patients with severe aortic stenosis. She is one of the managing partners at Oracle Heart & Vascular.
Dr. Iantorno exemplifies a commitment to excellence through her determination, diligent work ethic, and extensive training, which collectively facilitate a comprehensive approach to patient care and the development of innovative treatment options. In addition to her numerous accomplishments, she offers a distinctive perspective derived from both her personal passion and specialized education. As an accomplished IRONMAN triathlete, she has also received specialized training from The American College of Cardiology’s Care of the Athletic Heart program. This unique combination of experience and expertise equips her to deliver targeted care that promotes safe exercise participation, thereby further enhancing her reputation within the field of Sports Cardiology.
Dr. Iantorno is committed to providing comprehensive care to both men and women. She acknowledges that the characteristics of a women’s heart differs significantly from those of men. With her expertise in identifying these distinctions, she is well-equipped to manage the unique attributes of the female heart effectively and with compassion.
Together with her husband and three children, she lives in northern Virginia and enjoys spending time training and competing as a triathlete in half and full IRONMAN races. She is a great listener, compassionate, and down to earth. She also speaks Spanish and fluent Italian.
Her case illustrated that women with heart disease present different symptoms than men, but it wasn’t the only unusual aspect of the procedure. The physician calling the shots was Dr. Micaela lantorno, Fredericksburg region’s only female interventional cardiologist.
