Dr. Prasad is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been awarded Northern Virginia’s Top Doctor awards for five consecutive years.

Together with a skilled team of nurses and other providers, Dr. Prasad has been vital in bringing the option of an implantable monitoring device for heart failure patients to this area. He is currently the only one in Fredericksburg who implants the device called CardioMEMS, which has significantly decreased readmission rates for patients with heart failure.  

He performs percutaneous coronary interventions as well as endovascular peripheral interventions in the Oracle Procedural Suite. Additionally, Dr. Prasad and Dr. Iantorno have launched a new procedure treating pain for patients who suffer from moderate to severe osteoarthritis of the knee. 

He works extremely hard, is unshakably determined, and a strong advocate for patients and others. Compassion, integrity, wisdom, and humility are at his core, taking the necessary time to educate and get to know each patient and their families. Dr. Prasad, his wife, and four children live in Fredericksburg. In his personal time, he enjoys literature, reading, and writing.
