Dr. Prithviraj Rai is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist and a valued practice partner at Oracle Heart & Vascular. Board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Rai brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to delivering necessary care. He takes the time to listen carefully to each patient, building trust through clear communication and thorough explanations that empower individuals to take an active role in their heart health.

Dr. Rai is passionate about advancing cardiovascular treatment and has been at the forefront of innovative therapies. Notably, he performed the first AGENT™ drug-coated balloon procedure at the Mary Washington Hospital Cath Lab, a groundbreaking FDA-approved treatment for patients with in-stent restenosis. This minimally invasive technique offers a new, effective way to open narrowed arteries and improve long-term outcomes.

Dr.j Rai completed his medical education with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB, BS from India), followed by a residency in Internal Medicine, where he developed a strong foundation in patient care. He then pursued specialized training through a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology, honing his skills in advanced heart procedures and minimally invasive techniques. Throughout his education and training, Dr. Rai has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and lifelong learning, equipping him to provide the highest quality cardiovascular care. He is board certified in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology, reflecting his expertise and dedication to the field.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Rai enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children in Fairfax. He is an avid cook, traveler and active supporter of his children’s soccer and track activities. Fluent in Hindi, Urdu and Kannada, Dr. Rai is dedicated to providing personalized care to a diverse patient community, ensuring everyone feels heard, understood and supported throughout their cardiovascular journey.
