Emily Barnes, FNP-C

Emily Barnes joined the Oracle Heart & Vascular team in 2023 as a Nurse Practitioner and sees patients at our Fredericksburg office. Emily earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences from James Madison University before achieving an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Northeastern University. Following, she received a Master of Science in Nursing–Family Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University.

Emily’s interest in the medical field first sparked during her sophomore year of college during anatomy. She then decided to pursue a career in cardiology because she finds the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system fascinating and intricate. 

Her favorite part of the job is educating patients as she believes it is important patients fully understand and comprehend the meaning of their test results and the rationale behind their treatment plan. Additionally, Emily values building meaningful relationships with her patients while earning their trust.

Outside the office, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. She also likes exercising on the Peloton and going to professional sports games and concerts. As a Fredericksburg native, Emily appreciates the beautiful environment the area offers and the wide variety of fun activities.
