Sadie Ahanchi, MD, FACS, RPVI

Dr. Sadie Ahanchi is a renowned vascular surgeon whose knowledge and expertise elevate the standard of vascular care. Her primary mission is to make a lasting, positive impact on the health and well-being of the Fredericksburg community and its surrounding areas.

A proud Illinois native, Dr. Ahanchi began her academic career at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign before earning her Doctor of Medicine from The University of Illinois College of Medicine. She honed her skills through a general surgery internship and residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in Chicago.

In 2010, she moved to Norfolk, Virginia, to complete a vascular surgery fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), where she later served as faculty for a decade. Dr. Ahanchi brought her expertise to Fredericksburg in 2022, where she now leads as the region’s only private practice vascular surgeon.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Ahanchi has earned multiple prestigious awards, including the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery Founders Award and the American Medical Association Seed Grant. A prolific contributor to medical research, she has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. As one of fewer than 300 female vascular surgeons in the United States, she is a trailblazer in her field. Dr. Ahanchi remains an active member of prominent professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
